Open to international violinists aged 18 to 30, the 17th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition will be held in four stages, with the finals held in Poznań, Poland, from October 8–25, 2026. 

The organization has selected 125 second-stage candidates from 25 countries for its second-stage live auditions, which will be held from April 18 to May 24, 2026. 

The full list of candidates can be found here. The pre-selection panel comprised Agata Szymczewska and Bartłomiej Nizioł, the latter of whom will chair the competition jury of 11 members. 

On June 1, 2026, the competition will announce the final list of candidates, who will prepare for the chance to compete for top prizes.

First prize will include €60,000, second prize is €30,000, and third prize will be €15,000. Laureates of the competition will receive €5,000. Special prizes will be announced before the the event. The Gala and Prize-Winners’ Concert will take place on October 23. 

Past winners of the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition have included David and Igor Oistrakh, Ida Haendel, Ginette Neveu, and, more recently, VC Artists Veriko Tchumburidze and Hina Maeda.
