Hilary Hahn Cancels Performances Through November Due to Injury
Hahn has had to withdraw from her BBC Proms appearance next week
The three-time GRAMMY Award-winning violinist Hilary Hahn has regrettably announced that she will cancel her performances through November 2025 due to an ongoing injury.
Last year, Hahn originally took a seven-month hiatus due to a double pinched nerve and returned to the stage in February of 2025.
"While I thought I was fully recovered from my injury last season, I'm not," she wrote in a social media post. "I'm proud of the year of hard work it took to get back to the stage. It was amazing to play music with colleagues and for audiences again."
For the BBC Proms performance next week with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, she was due to play the Dvořák concerto. Violinist Isabelle Faust will jump in at the Proms, in addition to the Grafenegg Festival.
"This time, I'll be pursuing a more aggressive treatment," Hahn added. "I have a great support team in place: they are optimistic and the prognosis is good. I have a lot more left to say on the violin and I'm not giving up! I will miss you and I hope to see you all soon.
"Thank you for all of your support and for being so wonderful for so long!"
We wish Hilary a speedy recovery!
