We're coming to you from Mirecourt, France, for the final round of the 2025 Mirecourt International Violin Competition. Created to promote young artists as well as French music, lutherie, and bow making, France’s biennial Mirecourt International Violin Competition is now entering its eighth edition.

The 2025 jury includes Radu Blidar, Kang Dong Suk, Sophia Jaffe, Elisabeth Kufferath, Marianne Piketty, Marco Rizzi, and Ulf Wallin.

The final will take place on November 9th, 2025, at the Salle de la Rotonde in Thaon-les-Vosges. The three finalists, Seonglan Hong from South Korea, Gaspar Kelemen, from Hungary, and American Jonathan Okseniuk will perform one of the following concertos:

  • Johannes Brahms – Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 77
  • Felix Mendelssohn – Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64
  • Jean Sibelius – Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47
  • Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky – Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35

They will be accompanied by the Orchestra of the Opéra National de Lorraine, conducted by Alize Lehon.
