We're coming to you LIVE from the Sumitomolife Izumi Hall in Osaka, Japan for the 2023 Osaka International Chamber Music Competition.

The triennial event celebrates the art of chamber music and has two sections: String Quartet and Piano Trio / Quartet.

Chaired by Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, the jury is comprised of violinists Martin Beaver, Weigang Li, Kazuki Sawa, violist Monika Henschel, Mai Motobuchi, cellist Alasdair Tait, pianists Vincent Coq, Eckart Heiligers, and Shigeo Neriki.

The first prize winner will receive¥2,500,000, second prize ¥1,200,000, and third prize ¥800,000. Special Awards will also be given — including the ¥500,000 MK Memorial Award, Bordeaux String Quartet Festival Award, String Quartet Biennale Amsterdam Award, and “Ambassador Ensemble of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023” Award.

This year's finalist in the String Quartet category are: the HONO Quartet, the Quartetto Indaco and the Terra String Quartet.

This year's finalists in the Piano Trio/Piano Quartet category are: the Trio Michelangeli, the Trio Pantoum and the Capybara Piano Quartet.
