Applications Open to The Colburn School’s 2026 Sounding Point Academy
Violinists of all ages are encouraged to apply for the summer program held at The Colburn School from May 31–June 14, 2026
Founded by Robert Lipsett and Fabiola Kim, the Sounding Point Academy aims to nurture the next generation of soloists, chamber musicians, orchestral musicians, and pedagogues through a two-week in-person summer intensive.
Held at The Colburn School from May 31–June 14, 2026, the program will offer students opportunities to perform for some of the world’s leading performing artists.
Additionally, students will have the chance to master orchestral excerpts, gain comprehensive knowledge of violin technique, and receive two 45-minute lessons a week.
This year’s Sounding Point Academy faculty will comprise Robert Lipsett, Fabiola Kim, Danielle Belen, David Halen, Simon James, and Eugene Watanabe. This year's guest artist is Ray Ushikubo, while Debbie Devine and Endre Granat will be the guest presenters.

The program will also offer a public-speaking and movement component, which is part of the course, designed to create a holistic musician and give structure to the daily life of a student.
