Applications Open for Concours Musical International de Montréal Violin 2026
Open to violinists of all nationalities born between 1995 and 2009, the competition will be held from May 27 to June 4, 2026
Applications are now open for the 24th edition of the Concours Musical International de Montréal (CMIM) for violin. Since its inaugural edition in 2002, CMIM has held alternating editions for piano and voice.
To be held from May 27 to June 4, 2026, the upcoming edition will select 24 outstanding violinists born between 1995 and 2009 (inclusive) to compete at the Salle Bourgie and Maison symphonique de Montréal for a prize pool of over $150,000.
Finalists will perform with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) and conductor Sascha Goetzel.

Chaired by jury president Lucie Robert, the 2026 jury will comprise Ju-Young Baek, Glenn Dicterow, Simin Ganatra, Yuzuko Horigome, Régis Pasquier, Barry Shiffman, and Pavel Vernikov.
“Lucie Robert served on the jury for the Concours 2023, and we are delighted to welcome her back to Montréal in this new role,” said Artistic Director Shira Gilbert. “She has a wealth of international experience as a performer, juror, and educator. She has already proven instrumental in planning for the Concours 2026, and it will be a true pleasure to have her with us for this next exciting edition.”
