OAcademy combines live digital instruction with in-person experiences, enabling students to connect with faculty from prestigious international institutions — including the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, MET Opera, and the London Symphony Orchestra.

There are four specialized Artist Diploma programs available starting in January 2026:

  • Orchestra Institute: Prepares instrumentalists for professional careers through a six-month accelerated program combining 70% advanced musical skills development with 30% career training. Students work with internationally recognized artists, including Yo-Yo Ma, Marin Alsop, Augustin Hadelich, and Evelyn Glennie, participating in up to five hours of live activities twice weekly.
  • Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship: Offers an intensive six-month mentorship for 12 emerging conductors, featuring regular interpretation masterclasses with Prieto alongside instruction from Leonard Slatkin, Marin Alsop, and Simone Young.
  • Gabriela Ortiz Composing Studio: Provides a collaborative laboratory environment for 12 early-career composers working with faculty including Du Yun, Andrew Norman, Missy Mazzoli, and Marcos Balter. The program emphasizes contemporary composition techniques and includes an artistic residency with Gabriela Ortiz.
  • Gabriela Montero Piano Lab: Delivers year-long individualized instruction for six outstanding pianists, featuring one-on-one lessons, career mentorship, and two immersive residencies in Europe and the USA with renowned pianist Gabriela Montero.

"OAcademy builds a dynamic network where musicians from around the world connect with the industry's top figures," says Alexander Shelley, Music Director of the National Arts Centre of Canada. "It's a powerful, inspiring initiative for the modern musician."

"Online music education can be transformative," says Polar Music Prize winner Evelyn Glennie. "OAcademy fosters real growth, enabling students to develop and share their skills with a global network."

OAcademy is currently accepting applications for its 2026 Artist Diploma Fellowships, with deadlines of October 1, 2025, for orchestral, conducting, and composition programs, and November 1, 2025, for the Piano Lab.
