The premier Austrian-based string manufacturing company Thomastik-Infeld has introduced its new RONDO® Gold strings for viola. Its original RONDO® series of strings are also available for violin, viola, and cello. 

RONDO® Gold responds extremely well across the entire dynamic range (from ppp to fff), and can also be used at 430 Hertz for musicians in Historically Informed Performance.

This new set is recommended for violists that are looking for strings that offer a warm and shiny sound. Compared to Thomastik-Infeld’s regular RONDO® strings, its newly released RONDO® Gold strings sound significantly warmer and shinier.

The RONDO® Gold (NO.RG200) set for viola contains strings with a vibrating string length of 37.5 cm / 14.8”.

  • A-String NO.RG21, is Chrome-wound, with a carbon steel core and removable ball end
  • D-String NO.RG22A, is Silver/Chrome-wound with a synthetic core  
  • G-String NO.RG23, is Silver-wound with a synthetic core 
  • C-String NO.RG24, is Tungsten/Silver-wound with a synthetic core
