Thomastik-Infeld Released New PETER INFELD® Strings for Double Bass (NO.PI600)
The PETER INFELD® series has now added double bass strings to its collection for violin, viola, and cello
All the strings in the Thomastik-Infeld PETER INFELD® string line are dedicated to and named for Peter Infeld, who ran the string manufacturing company for more than 40 years.
The strings in this series are specially developed for optimal projection, allowing the player’s sound to travel to the farthest corner of the room or concert hall.
The PETER INFELD® string line has now released reliable strings for double bass (NO.PI600), which feature a centered tonal core, sound strength in the mid-frequencies, ease of bowing, lots of growl and sustain, plus substantial sound colors that are easy to control.
“Very reliable … They boast a substantial amount of sound colors that remain controllable for you as a player at all times,” reads the series’ website. “Based on our legendary spiral core, we have developed these strings with a new combination of materials to achieve their outstanding properties: for jazz bassists they offer growl and sustain while being easily bowable and providing powerful projection for the orchestra player. Their extraordinary projection lets you all shine.”

The PETER INFELD® (NO.PI600) 3/4 bass string set contains 6 strings with a vibrating string length of 104.0 cm / 40.9”.
