The Queensland Symphony Orchestra is currently based in the Queensland Performing Arts Center in Brisbane, Australia. The only professional symphony orchestra in the state of Queensland, the orchestra has been in existence since 1947, and it has been under the direction of Music Director Umberto Clerici since 2023. The orchestra is currently seeking an Associate Principal Viola, Assistant Principal Viola, and a designated 5th Chair Viola.

Employment with the orchestra will include nine weeks of paid vacation; the 2023/24 minimum annual salary is $105,300, which is increasing to $109,200 for the 2024/25 season.

Auditions for the orchestra’s First Associate Concertmaster position will be held on April 29, 2024. The selected candidate will succeed Peter Otto, who served in the role since 2007.
