VC Artist Bomsori Kim's Concert de Paris Performance
Bomsori appeared in Paris on Bastille Day to perform with the Orchestre National de France
VC Artist Bomsori Kim performed at the annual Concert de Paris event last month on Bastille Day with the Orchestre National de France and conductor Cristian Măcelaru.
She played Saint-Saëns’ Rondo Capriccioso under the Eiffel Tower in a performance that drew a live audience of around 300,000 people and garnered over 3 million viewers on live TV broadcasts.
Other artists playing at the event included Gautier Capuçon, Aida Garifullina, Julie Fuchs, Bruno de Sá, and Dom La Nena.
The Concert de Paris has previously featured musicians such as Fatma Said, Leonidas Kavakos, Joyce DiDonato, Lisa Batiashvili, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Each year, the concert is also followed by a traditional fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower.
“I honestly don’t know where to begin…Still filled with gratitude and emotion after playing at the Bastille Day Gala “Le Concert de Paris” broadcast live all across Europe and watched by over 3 million people,” Bomsori shared on Instagram. “It was such an honor to share the stage with the wonderful musicians of the @orchestrenationaldefrance and so many incredible artists.

A graduate of Seoul National University, Bomsori is also an Artist Diploma graduate of The Juilliard School, where she studied with Sylvia Rosenberg and Ronald Copes.
Among her accolades are major prizes at the Wieniawski, Montreal, Joseph Joachim, Tchaikovsky, Sendai, Sibelius, Qingdao, and ARD International Violin Competitions. In 2021, she signed an exclusive agreement with the Deutsche Grammophon label. Bomsori plays on the 1725 “Moller” Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù violin.
Cristian Măcelaru has been Music Director of the Orchestre Nationale de France since the 2020/21 season. Additionally, he is chief conductor of the WDR Sinfonieorchester, which he recently took on a European tour to perform at the BBC Proms, and in the Elbphilharmonie and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
