Created by violinist Dmitri Berlinsky, the series honors one of the world’s most respected violin teachers — bringing former students and collaborators together to share Ms. DeLay’s techniques, repertoire and reflections on life as an artist.

This stream features a violin masterclass hosted by violinist Julian Rachlin.

Also a conductor, Rachlin is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. He also leads the "Julian Rachlin & Friends Festival" in Palma de Mallorca.

Dorothy DeLay (1917-2002) is remembered as one of the most respected violin pedagogues of the 20th Century. Her students included Itzhak Perlman, Sarah Chang, Midori, Gil Shaham, Nigel Kennedy, Shlomo Mintz, Cho-Liang Lin, Akiko Suwanai, Philippe Quint, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and more.

Founded by Vadim Gluzman and Angela Yoffe in 2010, the NSCMF aims to provide Chicago’s North Shore with musical experiences of the same caliber as those found in the great halls of the world, but within a close, intimate environment.

A student of Leonid Kogan and Viktor Tretiakov, Mr. Kaler is a former first prize winner at the Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and Paganini International Violin Competitions. He is currently a Violin Professor on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Today's masterclass features violinists Joshua Brown and VC Rising Star Fiona Khuong-Huu.

Zlatomir Fung was the first American in four decades and the youngest musician ever to win First Prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition Cello Division. In 2019, he signed to Kirshbaum Associates Management in New York City for worldwide representation.

Founded in 1990, this year's festival is being held using a hybrid in-person and virtual model from July 25 to August 12, 2021.

The Keshet Eilon International String Mastercourse for young violinists, violists, and cellists from around the world, offers personal instruction by distinguished teachers, masterclasses, innovative workshops, opportunities to perform as soloists and as chamber music players in concerts, and a unique archery sports program for string instrumentalists.

This year’s string teachers include Shmuel Ashkenasi, Vadim Gluzman, Eduard Grach, Ilya Kaler, Itzhak Rashkovsky, Chaim Taub, Robin Wilson, Qian Zhou, Paul Coletti, Ralph Kirshbaum, Amit Peled, and more.

Students will attend virtually and in-person based on whether students meet Israel's covid-19 regulations.

"This year was challenging for everyone. It’s not like we had a manual or playbook to refer to for such unprecedented situations," said Founder and Music Director Itzhak Rashkovsky.

"Refusing to quit so that the music will go on was the only force that guided us through this time, and this is a potent source! Encouragement and support given by devoted friends brought us to the realization that we would operate the Mastercourse in a different format so that the Keshet Eilon will not stop."

Over the years, many of Keshet Eilon’s 1,300 graduates have gone on to win major international competitions and have embarked upon significant careers as soloists and orchestral leaders — with all acting as goodwill ambassadors for Western Galilee and Israel as a whole.

As the festival's official international media and broadcast partner, a series of this year's masterclasses and concerts will be streamed LIVE here on The Violin Channel daily and be available for your playback. You won't miss a beat.
